What can a snowboarder teach you about business?
I received a call last night from a cousin I haven't heard from in three years. Growing up, we were very close and lately he's been going through some very hard times.
After an hour of catching up, we began talking about business.
He's a musician and a very popular one at that. His band's page on MySpace was the 6th most popular page on all of MySpace for a LONG time (this was before the band broke up).
But he failed to make any real money. Come to find out, the music business is as corrupt as it get's and while he toured the world and made a name for himself, he never made more than $1000 per week.
He read my blog post yesterday and was so interested, he wanted to know more. And while I was happy to tell him, I felt like he needed to learn a business, not how to make 2-3k per month (although that was his current need).
So I pointed him to a blog written by a snowboarder and businessman, John. Let's just call him Snowboard John. If you like what I write, you will certainly like what he writes as well.
And as for my cousin, he's going to drive down to my house from

Thanks for the props brother
I have couple questions…
I "Woody Maxim" your real name or a pen name?
Are you using Semiologic on this blog? If not what are you using?
Real name - Woodrow Maximus
Not sure why it matters if I use "Woody Maxim" or "Woodrow Maximus" to you?
Yes, I'm using Semiologic… that's no great secret either.
Woody
Thanks.
I have no problem with Woody Maxim.. great name, I just wasn't sure if it was real or made up.. cuz it's such a good match for an ex porn entrepreneur.
