Watch your ad spend closely

The lesson I'm going to drive home in the post is to watch your ad spend… closely.

Case in point:

I created a new Google Adwords account several months back that was dedicated to a project I was working on at that time.

After I set it up, I created a site targeting campaign.

I then forgot about this account as the project was morphed into something else.

Last night, I noticed a $2800 charge from Google in my bank account dedicated to that project (it wasn't making anything, so any charges there really stand out).

Ouch… my forgetfullness cost me $2800.

What if you were counting every penny and $2800 would put you out on the street? It happens.

Be careful and watch your ad spend.
