The Woody Awards

I would like to begin by thanking everyone that responded to the email coaching question. It's seems as if there is a real desire for coaching and I'm flattered. I envision the coaching to be more of a mentorship where you will simply ask me questions and I will answer them. I'm an open book and am willing to talk about anything I have knowledge on. I prefer to work with people that have a real motivation to succeed and not non-action information only seekers.

So how much should a service like this be priced at? Post your thoughts in the comments section of this post.

Ok, today I'm going to introduce the Woody Awards!

The Woody awards will be awarded to guru marketers that just do dumb or annoying things.

There are various Woody's that will be given to deserving gurus. Here they are:

The BIG Woody - This is the ultimate prize for stupidity. This is for the guru (or wannabe) that just say's or does something ridiculous. An example would be 'Adsense Templates' for $300.

The STIFF Woody - This is a second place award and will go to questionable gurus. This award will go to a marketer that releases really crappy products but has enough smarts to make it work. An example would be pretty much all of the 'generators'.

The HARD Woody - This is the third place award and will likely go to anyone that comes out with another 'list building' course, yet they have not built a list themselves.

And lastly… the runner-up award.

The SOFT Woody - This award will go to the guru's that just can't measure up. These are the people that lurk in the shadows of gurudom but can't quite become guru's themselves.

I would like your official nominations please.

Post your nominations in the comments section below. I will tally up those votes and conduct a formal award presentation ceremony for all Woody winners this afternoon.

And lastly, would you like to earn brownie points with me? If so, please setup a squidoo lens today (takes about 5 min) and link it to your favorite post on this blog. Not only will I appreciate it, but you will gain the experience needed to setup a lens for yourself!

So how do you use Squidoo?

1. Signup - http://www.squidoo.com/member/registration

2. After you enter your info, click Create a Lens.

3. Enter Topic (name of post on this blog).

4. Choose I want to make a list of my favorite things about POST

5. Use longtail keywords for your URL and lens title in step 3. Just pick some main keywords found within that post.

6. Enter more longtail keywords in step 4.

7. Click 'Edit this lens'

8. Add an introduction. You have my permission to use a portion of the content from that post as long as you link back to that post from this lens.

Enjoy!

Woody

PS - You have 3 action items for today:

1. I want to know what you think I should price the email coaching at.

2. I want your vote for the official Woody Awards presentation this afternoon.

3. Create a Squidoo lens based on one of my posts in this blog.

Price depends on several factors.

How much contact are we recieving? Emailing one on one about specific challanges I have or submitting questions which get responded to in a mass email everyone recieves? Either way has value, one just more than the other :)

admin @ 7:38 am

Actually, both. I didn't want to get ahead of myself here, but you led me into the perfect segway.

I will have a monthly print newletter that anyone can submit questions to and only those subscibed will be privy to my responses. This is much like the Q&A I'm doing on the blog, but just more detailed and with examples where appropriate. This will also be augmented by audio and video. Since this is a physical product, I will have a 24 hour special at a drastically reduced price (somewhere between $10-$20/mo and will then raise it to $67-$97 per month after that 24 hour special.

The email coaching on the other hand will never be shared with anyone. This is your questions answered candidly by me. We can setup a 'path' whereby I help you get from point A to B, or you can just run stuff by me and I will give my feedback on that as well. I envision this to run $300-$500/mo.

The monthly newsltter sounds very realistic at the prices you're proposing. I think ou've already proved yourself to be a "straight down the line" guy, so the information I suspect you'll be offering is easily worth that level of investment.

As for the email coaching - my personal preference would be a "path" where you cover a plan (the more detailed the better) that we could follow to get from A to B (A being low income level from current business, to B being well into 5 figure monthly income, and up)

My biggest problem right now is (conflicting) information overload - the ability to follow a plan from a trusted marketer (aka Woody) would be well worth the investment.

Price wise, closer the the $300 a month would better suit my current financial position, but I do see the huge value of what you're planning to offer.

You might consider using the James Brausch model. He gets unpaid interns to do most of the work in building his site's backlink ranking, while rewarding the interns with free information, and sometimes software, they can become proficient at selling online.

Beginners, with no monetary resources for your coaching, simply will end up without a path to your most valuable coaching.

You have already initiated my suggestion in this post about interns through the Squidoo Lens suggestion.

James's site, oddly enough, is at http://www.JamesBrausch.com. See, there I go again with another backlink for him.

Rayfellers,

It's interesting you bring up James. I find his blog is one of the few *I* read every single day. Even the design of this site was influenced from him. A link to his blog is welcome here.

Catzilla,

I like your suggestion, thank you. As for the cat's… well, I have nothing more to say about that ;-)

Ray and Woody,
Funny you mentioned James Brausch 'cause I was thinking similar things about this blog and the mentoring.

It's good to know I'm reading information that other successful marketers are reading also. Information overload gives me decision paralysis cause I don't have the resources ($) to test ..test..test to sort out the garbage.

Plus I'm not a cat person either (which has nothing to do with this post other than Woody bringing it up). My step daughter just brought her old cat back in the house and now it lays in the litter box then spreads it thru the house.

Being part of Jeff Johnson's SACC, I think $300-$500/month is reasonable. What I'd really like is to have someone show me a complete "system" and not just bits & pieces of information from different aspects of an online business.

Good work on the blog and the model. I see the Brausch (www.jamesbrausch.com) influence ;) Just don't turn off comments - I think you'll find the feedback is worth much more than the aggravation.

I would be interested in the coaching. Your material and philosophy looks right on - I've just got to see a little more before I put down $250 or so a month. This blog and your newsletter should do the trick. Are you a member of Brausch's magic email?

Also, I set up a lens for you: Woody Awards.

Good luck.
