Reading this blog will save your life!
'STOP, call 911!’ said the guy in his mid-thirties wearing an old t-shirt, plaid shorts, and sandals. 'He's had a heart attack!'
A nearby onlooker picks up her cell phone and frantically dials 911 as a rush of adrenaline races down her back as she realizes that her instant reaction will either save this man's life or…. not.
Minutes later, an ambulance arrives at the scene and immediately assessed the situation. To their surprise, the man with the heart attack is coherent. He's talking, and what he's saying leaves a look of astonishment on everyone's face.
He explains that he was in the middle of reading one of these many recent reports of doom and gloom. You know the ones, the death of this, the rebirth of that, the authority bullshit this, and the list goes on. The one he was reading at the time of the heart attack had him downright scared. He began to panic as he thought this expert was correct. He knew his business was going down the tubes fast and according to this authority, there wasn't much he could do about it… unless he bought what they were selling.
The next thing he realized was a serious pain in his left arm and a tightening of his chest. This panic attack took a turn for the worse. He saw his life pass before his eyes as the realization hit that he may not kiss his wife one last time or see his young children grow up to be giving members of society.
A real sense of loss hit him as he knew his was going to die.
But then, this man appeared… almost out of nowhere. This man in his mid thirties, wearing plaid shorts, an old t-shirt and sandals.
This man held him and gently eased him to the ground. This man propped up his head and yelled for someone to call 911. Then this strange man said something that REVERSED the heart attack. It's as if his words healed him…
The man said that the words whispered to him were this:
"Hey there, just relax. My name is Woody and I'm here to help you. You are experiencing a heart attack but everything will be ok… if you make the right choice. On the one hand, you've read this doom and gloom and see 'the writing on the wall'. You can choose to believe it… and chances are you will not survive. On the other hand, you can use your intelligence and realize that the doom and gloom has the sole intention into making you believe that they are right and that the only way to survive is to heed their words (and buy their products). The choice is yours but you have to make your decision now… your life depends on it."
At that moment, the pain began to subside as quickly as it came.
The paramedics were baffled as they've never seen such a thing occur in all their years of rescue.
With so many questions, the paramedics began looking for this guy known as 'Woody'.
He was nowhere to be found… he simply reversed one man's fortune and moved on without needing to bask in the limelight of heroism.

There is a crop of new 'special reports' popping up over the past month or so that have predicted doom and gloom. If you find yourself becoming nervous at the 'news' they are sharing with you, just remind yourself that this is the oldest trick in the book and that they are simply saying this crap to further their agenda.
Hope you enjoyed today's '

Yes, I did.
By the way, gotta say, your name is very cool.
Almost certainly not your given names. I mean, a major player in the porn industry with the name "Woody"?;)
And Maxim, a play on maximum.
But a very very cool sounding name.
One of the few blogs I actually bother reading.
Yep. I'm loving this post. Definitely enjoyed it
I'm yet to read the latest 'rebirth' report in question (it's sitting on my desktop) but I already know it's gonna be full of fear.
I'm gonna remember this post Woody…

Hi Woody,
You saved my life, Woody.
thanks for the update on the crap which is coming out in dozens, only to further "their" agenda.
Congrats that you are speakin' up,

You ever felt the urge to write a book?
With that sort of creativity inside you - you should - it would fly off the shelves :o)
That's a complement by the way - just in case you weren't sure.
You blog has been a real life saver to me - nice one yet again.
Mike
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL…
You made my day, Woody
You're right.
Point out a "problem", agitate it and leave the reader hungry for a solution that will soon be available.
How dare you question the great J. Reese! Bow down when he speaks, and be thankful he even thinks about you little people, let alone that he takes to time to create a donwloadable long-form salesletter, even though he proclaims such things as dead.
Reese is right. All others are wrong.
All hail, the great John Reese.
That was quite a piece of the writing Woody. And well timed with the release of Reese's new report:)
It's interesting to observe what's happening right now, and compare it to other markets and other points in history.
I don't believe longform sales letters are going to go the way of the dinosaur online at anytime in the foreseeable future (as Reese is suggesting). That's just the same argument about how infomercials will kill direct mail, TV will kill newspapers, and the Internet will kill TV… It does make for good marketing though, and I'm sure the guys writing all this stuff will make buckets of cash.
I'm reading "Breakthrough Advertising" right now and I find it fascinating how Eugene Schwartz aptly described the different stages of market awareness, and how to sell to people at those stages. Very sage advice, applicable today from a marketing genius written 50 years ago.
What we are seeing right now (at least in my opinion) are marketers trying to enter the conversation already going on in their frustrated prospects head (as always), play to their frustrations, and collect some more dough.

…I just read John's report. I liked it. It had fear, but it also had good content.
A couple of things that John mentioned I already knew from this blog.

PS. Long sales letters might not be 'dying' per say, but they blatantly will be outperformed.
you just brought a HUGE smile to
my face and made my day as well

teller!

The two shoe salesmen at some point in the past
———————————————–
The two shoe salesmen get their assignment to goto Delhi in India. Saleman 1 - gets there and looks around and everybody is wearing bear feet. He telegrams back to base - "Coming straight back - nobody here wears shoes"
Salesman 2 (we'll call him Paul) - sees something else. He telegrams back "Amazing opportunity there are thousands of people and none of them wear shoes - I'm staying and send me supplies immediately"
I respect both John Reese and Woody M so see value in both sides. I believe there is certainly something to be said for adding value and that it is true that this is what Google wants because if they don't deliver what people want then they will go elsewhere.
I don't think ways to "cheat the system" will disappear and I believe that the Internet will develop in ways we can't begin to imagine yet.
I believe that there is amazing opportunity and things like Squidoo are making it possible for people to make money by creating a page on a topic they are passionate about. Adsense is great as it allows people to monetize things they have as a hobbie too.
Is there something to be said for building value and dominating an area? - certainly and in fact this blog is an example of what is being talked about - it is providing value and if people like the blog and think this information is good and it is free - what is his paid stuff like..
All the best
Paul
