Question Time: Ask Me Anything

Today is a GREAT day.

1. I'm going to play golf this morning.

2. Today is the 2 HOUR season finale of LOST. At my house, LOST is an event each and every Wednesday night. The phone is turned off, friends and family are invited over, and it’s a great time. Tonight looks to be the best episode of the show's existence.

Since I don't have any earth shattering revelations to pass along, I thought I would give you this chance to ask me anything about anything. Post your questions in the comments section and I will answer them all.

Enjoy,

Woody

Michael @ 7:22 am

Woody–My question is I thought there was going to be a way to purchase your lyric site for $50.00? Was I mistaken? I write a music blog (on and off since last October–but will be doing a ton more with now since I am going to start interviewing up and coming bands from the UK) and thought that would be great addition to my site.

Thanks,

Michael

PS–LOST is awesome and I will be glued to my TV for those 2 hours also! I am very happy they started to answer a lot of those nagging questions I have had. As usual each time they answer one they give you two more to think about!

DeepDeep @ 7:51 am

Would you recommend testing prices and headlines (and maybe something else) at the same time with MuVar or test the prices first and then test everything else?

As I understand, the more variables I use, the more sales I need to validate the tests.

As price seems to be the biggest issue (based on my sales page on-exit feedback script), I would slow down getting the results if I tested multiple items at the same time?

Thanks,

Deep

On Adsense arbitrage -

Alright in both the Alex Goad article and the Shoemoney vid they stated something along the lines of - "Never send Adwords directly to Adsense".

As if this is a known fact among top arbitrage players.

Well.. I thought arbitrage WAS sending Adwords to Adsense. What are they talking about?? Do they just mean you send overture or msn paid traffic to Adsense? If so… why? Why not Adwords?

Can you give a 1 paragraph(or more of course) version of the Woody guide to Adsense arbitrage? Because apparently I don't get it…. and I thought I did!

Thanks,
Chris

P.S. Darn this Woody Maxim. Golf and then a season finale-a-thon! This guy is making me work harder than ever to get where I want to be!!! ;)

Woody,

Any chance that you will actually put together a total package about everything that you know/did while you were promoting porn? I understand that for the sake of your daughter you stopped promoting porn, however, it is still one of the most lucrative internet endeavors.

I think a lot of people would love to know how to break into this type of industry and be successful.

Thanks,

Jason

Woody:

What is the best way to stay in affiliate marketing business? It seems that there are many noises in internet marketing. We hear things such as

- Adwords cost are rising: it will be very difficult for us to compete with the big corportate who won't hesistate to throw big bucks;
- the death of adsense, the death of email marketing, the death of that ..
- John Reese recently released a report saying that the competition in internet marketing is getting more and more fierce;
- web 2.0 is the next big thing.
bla bla bla……..

Surely internet marketing is constantly changing, what works today will not work tomorrow. What should we do to build a real business ?

appreciate your feedback,
CY

I am located outside the U.S. (although a U.S. citizen) and have trouble accessing or doing business with U.S. websites at times.

For example, Yahoo Ad Center will only allow U.S. IPs to sign up online for their Ad Center. So I want a proxy properly set up on my computer before I access their AD CENTER website and sign up as if I was located somewhere in the U.S. All my billing and credit card info is in the U.S. It is only my IP address that causes the problem.

I have never been successful using proxies so I assume I am doing something wrong. (using Internet Exporer may be a big part of the problem!)

How does one know when their proxy is set up properly before they access a website? Often I spend a great deal of time at a website only to find out at the end of the transaction, I should have used a proxy or the proxy I used did not work. This results in wasted time and much frustration!

Can you give a detailed study of how to set up proxies, (especially when outside the U.S.), where to get reliable proxies, how to turn them on and off quickly, change them, etc. so I have confidence they will work?

I am asking for the tutorial that will solve my proxy problems before I encounter them.

So much to learn, so little time!

On the subject of entertainment, I have never watched LOST so I don't know what I am missing. I traded the TV for a computer long ago! I am glued to my computer for those two hours tonight! Can I watch LOST online?

Hello Woody

Right now I am working on a project for the april issue. I have a question regarding about the follwing:

Once you have setup the adwords, you can as well work on SEO, I asume. My question is would you use as well a blog for each product/trial software you would promote? And if so, how would you work this to have fast and the best results?

Thanks for a superb newsletter; I am already looking out for next issue of may and hopefully I have setup then this project of april's issue.

Ray
ps. is it ok to contact you to review the setup of this the project I am setting up now with the april blueprint?

pps. I first made this comment with admin@newzzine.com but that when submitting it gave me this message

The name you provided belongs to a registered user. Please login to make your comment.

However, I do not see where to login; that is why i used another email now; can you tell me how to login as well for next time?

Ward @ 9:57 am

Woody,

Great content on your blog and newsletter. I've notice that you provide tested results of things you've tried but are these projects you've done in the past only OR are you still working these projects in different ways?

Would you actually put us onto something that's making you so much money currently or wait until it's not it's strongest then pass it on?

thanks,

ward

If money (budget) was not an issue, and assuming one can work on this project full time and further assuming a medium level of understanding of internet marketing:

–> Could you please suggest what you'd do to earn $200 a day on the internet promoting affiliate products?

You're one of the dozen people on the net whom I've come to admire and respect. Thanks for offering content that matters!

Thanks for the opportunity
Ed

Michael @ 12:01 pm

Hi Woody,

How did you get your blog to be a PR 3 already?

Rich D. @ 3:02 pm

Woody,

In working on a screensaver project per the $100 a day scenario, I've managed to collect many images from usenet that are in the "PG-13" & "R" category. At what point does it become "Porn" and not suitable for the CPA free screensaver market? Looking to avoid trouble before it happens. The pics are great (stronger than Maxim, weaker than Playboy) but I'm not interested in crossing into the "Blue Zone".

Luke W. @ 6:33 pm

Which monthly membership programs are you a part of and plan to stay a part of? (i.e. Click Flipping, etc)

Rampage or Liddell?

Juan @ 8:59 pm

Hi Woody,

I have the same question Eduard had, but with a twist.

If money (budget) was not an issue, and assuming one can work on this project full time BEGINING ALONE AND DO IT ALL MYSELF, and further assuming a medium level of understanding of internet marketing:

–> Could you please suggest what you'd do to NET $200 a day on the internet promoting affiliate products?

why by myself? well, my first language is not english and I write some english but has some problem speaking english. I want some system to begin with out have to call constantly for help.
There are places to buy advertisement space efectively or some kind of good email list broker?

Thanks for your help.

Sarah K. @ 2:12 am

Is it possible for someone to retain a fulltime job and still grow a reasonable internet business on a parttime basis? By reasonable, I'm thinking of building to $3-5,000 per month during the next year.

It seems as if everything requires tremendous scale, whether setting up hundreds of sites, thousands of backlinks, etc. Even with automation, it is daunting for someone who can only devote a few hours a day (say 15-20 hours per week) to manage all of that.

If it *is* possible to succeed as a part-timer, what would be your recommended strategy?

Hey Woody,

What's the single fastest, easiest and most cost effective way of making money online, if you have very little experience and money, if there's any.

Thanks. BitterSweet.
