More Random Thoughts
After sleeping last night, I had more random thoughts to share…
- Keep it simple. The most brilliant businesses are simple ones.
- Buy your advertising… there's no reason not to.
- Drop dead horses. If a project isn't scalable, drop it.
- Outsourced workers are over-rated. It's easier to have people close by (and more profitable).
- Work should never be priority one. Life is about living… live it.
- Check email twice per day, you will retain your sanity.
- When you fear the limits, that's when you need to push them further. Those that never push past their fear never win.
- Use an ad server… it should be the core of your ad management.
- If Clickbank is your ultimate goal, you are not thinking big enough.
- If someone hasn't made at least a million bucks in one year, why are they giving you advice?
- If you are a seminar promoter, chances are you are a scumbag… there's still time to change.
- Trying things sometimes leads to great discoveries. Try one new thing today.
- Branding is important. Work on it.
- What the bleep do we know is a worthwhile read… I personally like the DVD.
- Study the art of persuasion… it's a great skill to master.
- Ego's and arrogance will lead you down a dark road. Check yourself.
- The big money is made in advertising… not info products. There's more to this statement than you may realize.
- Loss leaders are a good thing… why don't we see more people using them? Maybe not enough people know their metrics.
- All of Robert Cialdini's identified laws are powerful. There's more than one way to skin a cat… scarcity isn't the only law. Maybe more people will understand that.
- Power vs. Force should be required reading.
- The latest Google 'whatever' shouldn't be.
- Study the 48 Laws of Power and The 33 Strategies of War… you can learn a lot.

Hi there Woody.
I'm ready to promote your Random Thoughts. Tell me when:-)
Jimmy A.
Haha - cool lists man - I enjoyed every point.
Funny you should mention the 33 Strategies of War - I bought that book 5 days ago and cannot put that Mofo down…
…Except when my eye strain kicks in and forces me to stop reading!
(Which is seriously annoying me - if anyone has some eye strain advice or exercises I can do let me know. The optometrist I went to was like "you've got 20/20 vision, but you are slightly long sighted, so you need to spend $$$$ on special reading glasses - those eye tests have turned in glass lead gen programs, DAMN MARKETERS TEACHING HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS ABOUT MARKETING).
Could you expand on this random thought?:
- Use an ad server… it should be the core of your ad management.
IANAD, but try eye exercises Snowboardjohn, go a search for "eye exercises" "yoga eye exercises"
Also, Woody– what ad server would you recommend?
I have personally used the free http://www.openads.org(formerly http://www.phpadsnew.com). It's easy to get the hang of. Can be used with virtually any type of ads out there (adsense, banners, etc). Support and community are excellent. A lot of large sites use them like 43folders.com.
I'd be interested to hear what others have used.
>Outsourced workers are over-rated. It's easier to have
>people close by (and more profitable).
This one's a classic - couldn't agree more!
Good stuff, all around.
"- The big money is made in advertising… not info products. There's more to this statement than you may realize."
Ebay, Google enough said.
You provide the audience the big boys pay your bills and them some
Thanks Woody,
I plan to take your best random thoughts, make a list, and put them above my computer so i can review them daily so i don't go astray.

Hello Woody!
Thanks for the great post.
I wonder - could you perhaps chew up the "ad server" topic in a bit more detail?
Thanks so much!
