More Gumbo

For the SECOND week in a row, I'm heading into town for a lunch meeting at Bayou City Seafood and Pasta. This time, I'm working with two guys who developed the best stock trading course I've ever seen…. I will be helping them 'launch' the business. I don't think they have a clue as to what I have in store for them though :-)

As you may know, Maximum Overdrive's parent company is Gibble LLC. The staff at Gibble LLC manages my entire backend while I concentrate on the important stuff. Why would I do this? Based on the financial arrangements made, it was less expensive to go this route than to hire staff to manage my support, affiliate payments, merchant services, etc. Next time you go to launch a new project, give this some thought… does it make more sense to joint venture with a company that compliments your existing business/lifestyle?

For me, it does. I haven't managed a staff since 2003 and I don't particularly care to manage another one now.

This leads me to a conversation I had with the owner of Gibble… Keith Baxter.

Keith runs a CPA network at ModernClick.com. I received a call from him several weeks ago asking for help with a problem he was facing in that business. The problem is that the majority of his affiliates email his staff asking 'training' based questions. His staff isn't trained for that so these people get the 'We're sorry, we are unable to answer that question.' type answer (btw, The Bax knows I'm posting this, so I'm not stepping on toes here).

I suggested he hire a staff dedicated to training these people. He didn't like that.

So after a lot of talk, I did persuade him to hire one person as well as personally write a newsletter each month that addresses specific training issue.

It looks like he decided to take that route.

I sure like it when people act on my brilliant suggestions :-)

My point to all of this is to let you know that he's planning on releasing this new service to his Modern Click affiliates next week. I would appreciate it if you joined Modern Click via my referral link so if you use his information and make some dough, I will get a little overriding commission.

Geez, I have a way of writing too much to get a simple point across :-)

Ok, and lastly, it looks like our RegNow software site solution is going to be http://www.phpsugar.com/ultimate-regnow-affiliate.html. Word has it that they are integrating RegNow data feed support in the next release due out next month.

I need a yes or no on the site name I will create with this script…

I was thinking SoftWoody.com ;-)

Have a great weekend,

Woody

SoftWoody - genius! :)

Oh, BTW you're actually quite good at getting your point across. It's not often you 'go on' to get the point through… but I like it when you do. I understand you just that little bit better…

I think softwoody.com is the winner.

Play the pun for all it is worth.

Can't get good Gumbo out in my parts…

Hmmm it is so good when done right.

"This leads me to a conversation I had with the owner of Gibble… Keith Baxter."

Was this a Dr Jekyll Mr Hyde sort of thing? :)

With regards to regnow and the data-feed site. If maximum overdrive is about building big strong er… businesses, somehow softwoody.com somehow feels…inadequate ;)

Anthony @ 7:35 pm

Hey Woody and all the others,

If we all buy this software you mentioned at this blog and we all run this script and try to sell regnow products using the absolut same system - well don't we compete against each other? Does it make sense to buy that software when everybody else is using it?

What do you think Woody?

Cheers :-)

Why do you use the alias Woody Maxim, is it just so you can act like a badass and sell another monthly newsletter? Yes, your ideas are good and hold water, but let's be honest with your subscribers and announce to the world you're real name is James Brausch.

Thanks!

admin @ 10:18 pm

I assure you that my name isn't James Brausch… although he does have a nice blog.

SoftWoddy.com will never be able to penetrate enough business to put a smile on your face, or anyone else's face for that matter!

You need a much firmer approach in business. So I would suggest something more direct.

There are times when you really need to get things straight between you and your customers. Limping along without excitement about your product will disappoint even your closest customer.

I suggest you change the name to something that really WoodExciteYou.com

Sam @ 10:22 am

Hey Anthony, i too am interested in what Woody has to say about your question…

I guess the site design and templates can be redesigned etc.. but the content etc.. still stays the same, so how do we all benefit by using the same… ?

Woody, would you please mind addressing it, thnx.

Mr. Maxim, I say if ya'd like to sport your new software like a SoftWoody… go head first and let it all hang out my friend, sounds good to me. However, while I'm spittin my wad how about another soft suggestion… FeedWoody or WoodyFeed. I'll zip it up now.
