Love This Comeback

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I did… spent it with my family, ate lots of food, and watched the Cowboys win (nice).

I received an email tonight that I want to pass along today.

One of my sons serve in the military. He is still stateside, here in California. He called me yesterday to let me know how warm and welcoming people were to him, and  his troops everywhere he goes, telling me how people shake their hands, and thank them for being willing to serve, and fight, for not only our own freedoms but so that others may have them also.

But he also told me about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at yesterday, on his way  home from the base. He said that ahead of several people in front of him  stood a woman dressed in a burkha.  He said when she got to the cashier  she loudly remarked about the U.S. flag lapel pin the cashier wore on her  smock. The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly, "Yes, I always wear it and probably always will."

The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.

A  gentle man standing behind my son stepped forward, putting his arm around my son's shoulders, and nodding towards my son, said in a calm and gentle voice  to the Iraqi woman:

"Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women like this young man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of bombing YOUR  countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we  wouldn't need to be there today. But, hey, if you  have now learned how  to speak out so loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are  obviously here in MY  country to avoid." Everyone within hearing distance cheered!

I enjoyed that.

This reminds me of all the idiots in the US that wave the flags of other countries so proudly (such as the Mexican flag), yet they live here and refuse to go back to the countries they are so proud of.

Just goes to show you that no matter what differences we Americans have with each other over politics, business, global warming, etc. we do all agree that our freedoms in this country are priceless!

Erm, nice comeback but missing the point. There's shit happening all over the world and it ain't no coincidence that it's only the middle east 'cry for help' that USA seem to hear and respond to.

Woody Maxim @ 8:29 am

Actually, the point is all of these idiots migrate to OUR country and then 'bitch' that we are evil, etc.

I say… get the hell out.

I think "Woody Rants" is missing from the category list for this one ;)

This one smelled a little funny so I went over to snopes.com and found this:

"Our country"? Meaning the country formed on the land of first nations peoples, mainly by white immigrants from Europe?

The USA is a work in progress, like Canada, and there has never been anything like them in history. There was no moment when it was "finished", and after that special moment, all the remaining newcomers are supposed to follow some rules of adulation set up by the immigrants that came before them.

PS: Happy "Buy Nothing Day"!

Franklin @ 2:18 pm

I'm with you brother — everyone loves to bash America and Americans, but all those A Holes still want to come here and live here. F em…

john-craig @ 5:53 pm

All three of these people are idiots, as most people are.

The U.S. has not been threatened from a foreign power since the Mexican-American war.

All wars (declared and undeclared) since then have been fought for political reasons (read MONEY).

Anyone claiming otherwise is just kidding themselves.

I find it pretty funny that those who have never seen one line of classified information presumes they know more about the threats to this country than those who see such information on a daily basis. Topping it off, he thinks everyone else is the idiot, lol.

1. No, it doesn't miss the point,
2. When did Germany, France, the Balkans, etc, become part of the Middle East?

Reading some of the responses here, it should very clear why some find it so difficult to make money, online or off. Dwelling in the land of make-believe may be fun, but it isn't very profitable.

Oh, I concur with Woody. If you don't like it here, citizen or not, you can get the HELL out. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way.

Kevin C. - your wisdom shines bright like a bug zapper in the night.

FYI, I spent 8 years as an intelligence offer in the Navy and was in Desert Storm.

Saw lots of classified information. If you study HISTORY, you'll see there has not been a foreign threat to sovereignty of the U.S. for over 125 years.

But that requires work … so I don't expect much from people … back to their shopping at walmart, eating pork rines on the couch while watching their nascar races.

Bullshit @ 7:23 pm

Question for ya: Who funded sadam and the iraqi government to begin with?

Yeah, that's right, the good ol' USA

Nothing more than the USA war machine always in action. $$$$

You guys can have a pissing contest and moan about how this country was founded…bottom line, we're here, it's called The United States Of America and nothing you say will ever change that.

If you want to live here and enjoy the benefits of the club, JOIN THE FUCKING CLUB ALREADY OR GET OUT! And I don't care where you came from or how long you've been here. (And take your damned kids with you so you can't claim immigration is splitting up your 'family'!)

No matter where you live you should support your troops, the guys who have your back 24/7 so you can sit on your lazy ass and enjoy the good life.

And if you have a penchant for waving the flag of another country, GO THERE AND WAVE IT!

In the meantime, get ready for the next Mexican-American War. It's only a matter of time before we finally say enough is enough!

Thank God the Bush Nightmare has only a year and a few weeks left to wreak havoc on America!
