It's all in the traffic
I've apparently been the topic of conversation at several internet marketing forums. I was emailed last night saying, 'Hey Woody, you need to visit The Wannabees and defend yourself.'
Huh? Who do I need to defend myself from? Is Chuck Liddell about to drop the hammer on me? No, nothing that severe. Rather, it was just someone claiming to be an adult industry insider crying her little heart out calling me a fraud.
Whatever.
I have no time for you.
Another wannabee was clamoring, 'Where the proof?'
Proof of what? How big my shlong is? Come on… if you can't find value in this blog (i.e. PROOF), then get lost. Do you need to see my checks to make your little heart feel better? Not going to happen… I seem to be one of the few that believes my income is my business alone (and my wife’s). If you need a copy of a check, then move on… I have nothing for you here, sunshine.
And then… someone makes the ridiculous statement that it's ALL in the traffic. Huh? What about conversions? Do you really believe you can throw a lot of traffic at something and make it a winner? Well… maybe, if it's naked pictures of Kate from LOST… but I digress.
Seriously, it all begins with making the landing page convert and THEN it can be a traffic fest.

I agree, your income should be private, but anyone can make fake looking checks for proof, conversion is king remember,no conversions no cha-ching,they just upset because once you tell it as it is nobody is going to want to buy any more run around books after they read how it is really done, so they try to discredit you anyway they can for being truthful.

To be honest Woody, in many ways you do things 'against the grain' and to many of your subscribers and most likely all your customers (I'm both :)) it's an admirable trait.
Just keep doing 'you'. F the rest.

I don't always agree with you.
Sometimes I think 'hey wow' that's a cool idea.
Others times it just allows me to take a constructive reading break from working online.
