And lastly, I'm a huge fan of giving away a big portion of a product in order for the potential customer to sell themselves on the product.

This is marketing with integrity.

Refund rates are nearly non-existent, sales letter manipulation isn't needed, and everyone comes out happy.

If your product sucks, you don't make many sales. If it's good, it sells like hotcakes.

If it's a physical product, look to recoup your hard costs (production + shipping) upfront and that's where the sales letter needs to be focuses on.

It's a beautiful model that many successful companies follow.
