Can you learn anything from these updates?
I have a few updates to pass along and I *think* there might be something to learn from this.
First, the first issue of Maximum Overdrive went to the printers yesterday. They said that all newsletters will be mailed via first class on Tuesday. The newsletter topic is 'Regnow Profits' and GREATLY expands upon a blog entry I made a while back. I have to say that this process was difficult for me to reveal simply because it's one of my primary promotional systems.
My business partner read the issue and immediately wanted to create a video presentation based on the content… which apparently is already in the works.
My copywriter is almost done with the sales copy, at which time Maximum Overdrive will be marketed heavily. If you were lucky enough to subscribe before this first issue went out, good for you. I like action takers.
Second, I've devised a viral campaign designed to increase subscribers to my blog. I thought it would be interesting to lay this plan out for you.
I received a call from a guy named Scott Boulch. Scott read my blog and contacted me through a mutual business partner. So we talked. He explained his List Virus software to me which I thought was a great solution. I immediately came up with the following idea and he too thought it would work well.
I've received several great questions through my coaching program (which is free at coaching @ woodymaxim.com). I originally planned on using my responses as blog fodder… and I still might, but for now I'm going to create a report of the questions and answers. These answers will be presented in true Woody style.
This report will be available for free by simply signing up for my blog announcement list.
After you subscribe, you will have the opportunity to receive the 'lost' Maximum Overdrive (my print newsletter) issue. This is the one that was written prior to my changing the format. You will be able to get this newsletter for just referring two other people that you feel can benefit from my information. Once those two people confirm their subscriptions to my announcement list, you will have access to this newsletter.
I thought about making it five referrals, but decided on two as I actually want a lot of people to read this newsletter (I'm very proud of it).
Third, as many of you know
That's fine, but I asked him a simple question…
Do you think your customers (and the customers in this marketplace) are tired of paying through the nose for EVERYTHING that comes out?
Look, I'm the first to price something high in a marketplace. I'm also the first to realize that when others are pricing high and the market begins to rebel against it, it pays well to be the 'nice guy' and make very valuable software and content affordable.
After some thought, we agreed to price this source code at $697 with a $997 upsell. He hasn't announced this to his customers yet, so I have to keep you in the dark as to what the source code is until he makes the announcement first. And yes, I will be making a cut of the sales, so I do have motivation in telling you about it when he releases it.
I just wanted to illustrate to you that sometimes it pays to be the one that overdelivers on content and makes that content affordable (or in this case software).
I think that's it. If I remember something later, I will create another entry.

How do those of us already on your list get the

Thanks.
