Calling it quits

This past year has been fun, but I'm calling it quits.

Sure, I may post an occassional blog post, but I won't be writing (and haven't been) every day. That may change, but not at the present time.

Here are some reasons why…

I'm tired of it.

Well, ok, one reason.

So you may be wondering what's been going on? So here goes…

I lost a relative to a motorcycle accident 8 days ago. As you can imagine, I've been dealing with that a bit.

I've expanded my lead gen business. It's fun to make money without being scrutinized constantly.

I had a deal with another gentleman to take over a part of this business and introduce a very cool concept we were calling Woody 2.0… but that doesn't seem to be manifesting the way I imagined.

Who knows… that may happen, but I kinda doubt it.

I will continue to write Maximum Overdrive and chances are will write more on my thoughts in that publication rather than this blog.

This has been a fun ride, but as with all great things, they must come to an end.

Enjoy,

Woody

PS - Chime in here… if you want me to continue, let me know.

Woody,

I for one would love you to continue blogging!

But I've suffered through blog burn out myself - and know that personal blogging gets quite tiresome without a concrete goal like launching a product. Maintaining a journal is not for everyone.

Thats why, I've changed tactics and now start multi-author blogs. When 3-4 people write for 1 blog, the pressure is off of any 1 person and the quality becomes better too.

Maybe something for you to think about…

Sorry for your loss. My neighbor's husband was killed in a motorcycle accident here in North Georgia in an motorcycle accident on the very day he got insurance. It's a terrible, hurtful experience.

Again, sorry for your loss.

Continue posting. Doesn't matter if it's not as often.

It would be a waste for you to stop altogether.

Sorry to hear about your relative in the accident. That shit is never fun.

Allen @ 6:50 pm

I've really enjoyed your blog — thank you for taking the time to write and share with us!

I for one really hope that you'll continue blogging.

Woodster,

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Your blog was one of my fav's - Sucks to hear
this maybe one of the last posts… Totally hear you
on the lead gen business being a *MUCH* more lucrative
way to spend your time then blogging though.

Woody,

I'd be sad to see this blog go. Its one of the few that I read regularly. But if you're done, you're done. We'll manage.

Your PS makes me wonder how sincere you are though. I hope this isn't some gimmick.

I also enjoyed your blog and hope you keep it up.

Even if you are just recommending or pimping products I always seem to find cool things from here.

Take as much time as you need for your loss. We will still be here for you if and when you come back.

I got some issues of Maximum Overdrive but the techniques you teach are way over my head for now. That's why I love this blog. You give and give.

I use seeqpod everyday and modernweb, and lots of other stuff you have mentioned too. I will really miss this blog if it goes.

Gadon @ 12:51 pm

Woody,

if you have to quit, you have to quit.

But I will miss your posts, your style and your work.

Your blog is one of the few that I really follow - since more than a year now.

Of course I hope you keep up some posting from time to time.

Nevertheless, thank you for all the info and the insights you provided.

Good luck to you and all the best.

Gado

Hi,

I for one hope you keep blogging.

All the best, Allen

Sorry for your loss Woody.

Hate to see you stop, I really enjoy it.

But if you make up for it in Maximum Overdrive, it won't be all bad. In fact it may be a little better. Since it's a smaller group, you can share bigger secrets :-)

Hang in there,

Tim
