A good cause
I received this email yesterday:
Here's the picture that shocked the world…
http://www.foragreatercause.org/picture.html
Geez, this will move anyone with a heart. I trust Stephen Pierce (the guy behind this effort), so I donated a plate of food, purchased the $30 upsell, and made an additional donation.
There are so many charities to contribute to and the sad fact is that less than 10% of the donated funds actually make it to the recipient (yep, 90+% goes to paying the overhead and salaries of the fat asses that run the organizations…)
I think Stephen's effort will yield far more results.

I did too.
That really is sad…
I hope that the $100000 is reached.
More marketing campaigns should be done on this….
Woody,
thanks for posting this. Tears came when I saw this picture which I haven't seen before. The saddest part is it's 1 case of millions worldwide!

What you say about the large "charities" is absolutely true AND THEN SOME HEFTY MORE. Best larger known case are the hundreds of millions of dollars of donations after the big tsunami end of 2004 in Asia. As good as none of the poor people who lost their houses and everything have received a dime!! Can you believe this?
What most people - who are good hearted and "naive" - do not know is the FACT that many if not most of those large "charity" orgs are nothing but commercial corporations. Umbrella corps disguised as "charities" which collect donations on a large scale in order to finance e.g. wars, drugs etc. and to launder money coming from those same activities. Or why do you think all those large charity orgs are so quick at place each time with all bells and whistles when a catastrophe occurs or when they collect money for a war country?? Let me tell you, it's NOT in order to help! Maybe 1-2% of it for having something to show as proof to the public! Take some minutes and think about it…
Most simply have no clue what is really going on in this world and to which extent and magnitude people are being killed and exploited.
I won't go into much detail and now that I spilled the beans many reading this won't believe what I just told and think I need some medical treatment, you know what, I really don't care what you think about me, I felt it was important to pull the curtains down and that more and more people learn of these "mafia" style organizations and where your - in good faith and belief - hard earned money really goes!

What Stephen is doing is very commendable and I wished there would be more people doing this. We also established a charity org for poor kids in Ecuador, we are only a small hand full of people and trying our best but we lack of funds to start any long term projects.
I like Stephen's "marketing style" and the approach, definitely something fresh and hopefully he meets his target! That would really be something!
Mike
I did the same.
Things like that really do get to me.
I'm sure the target will be reached - and beyond.
