A Call for Prayer
As a parent, the last thing you want is for anything to happen to your child.
I received a letter from a good friend this morning that broke my heart. I can't imagine what he and his family are going through. Even to try to imagine it brings up emotions I don't want to face.
In this letter, he told me that his son has a condition that causes seizures and that last night, he had a seizure every 15 minutes (on average).
They have been working with the medical community for a while now, and now it's time to seek out a specialist that will hopefully put his finger on the cause and help control this situation for good.
I'm telling you this because I personally believe in the power of mass prayer.
When a community comes together and focuses thought on a specific outcome, I believe miracles can happen.
If you will please take one minute out of your day today and simply say a prayer (doesn't matter your faith… or if you even have any faith at all) for Kaden's swift diagnoses and recovery, I will be grateful.
Small children don't deserve this and this is the least we can all do.
Thank you.

Woody,
My thoughts and prayers are with this child and his family. I cannot yet imagine the helplessness that a parent faces when their child is suffering, but I pray the doctors will be able to diagnose and treat the problem quickly.
Jack
Woody,
Thanks for sharing this. I will include him in my morning prayers. Can you share his parents names as well? In my tradition we would say Kaden son of _______ (the mother's name.
Thanks,
Joshua
Woody,
As a parent myself, I can't fathom how helpless Kayden's parents must feel, Kayden and his family are in our prayers, que dios les bendiga…

Hello everyone,
Kaden is my son, and my wife's name is Susie. Thanks so much for your prayers, and since this post was made this morning, I've already run into a family friend who happened to have some new avenues for us to take in terms of looking for a solution. Things we hadn't considered before.
I have my suspicions that his seizures started as a result of his 1-year vaccinations. Although doctors claim there's no evidence that this could be the case, I've found other families who had similar occurrences with their kids soon after their 1-year vaccinations, as well.
Thanks to Woody for posting this, and thanks to all of you for your well wishes.
By the way, Kirt… not sure if you remember me, or not, but we met 5 or 6 years ago at one of the System seminars in Cincinnati. Thanks for the prayers.
Take care,
Andy
Dear Andy
My prayers with your son and your family. I'll ask my congregation at church to say a group prayer for your son.
My wife and I are proud parents of a handicapped child whi suffers from silent seizures which are successfuly traeted with Tegratol. Anyhow, a few weeks ago, while researching some side effects she had developed, I came across this article which I had saved and it deals with seizures in young children.
I am not a doctor and have no clue when it comes to such things friend, but it's worth a read as it resembles some of the symptoms mentioned by Woody

Hey Andy,
So sorry to hear about Kaden's condition. My prayers, and those of my family, are with Kayden….as well as with you and Susie.
Woody is right….the power of a prayer is truly awesome.
All the best my man,
Don Bethune
Thanks, Ed, for the resource and for asking your congregation to pray for Kaden.
Thanks to you, too, Don for your prayers. You're right… there really is power in prayers.
After the prayers that have been spoken over Kaden, and after adding a different drug to help him, we don't think he had ANY seizures last night, and as far as I know he hasn't had any tonight either.
Now, he did have about 7 or 8 early Thu. morning, but we think that's because his meds may have been wearing off by then, and he had a couple after his nap at the sitter's, but that's a big improvement over the other night.
I'll keep people updated as to his progress, and thanks again for all of your prayers. Please keep 'em comin'!
Take care,
Andy
Oh… and Ed… thanks also for sharing your story about your child. I had read about it earlier today when I didn't have time to reply, and now I just jumped on and skimmed through the comments real quick to get your name, and missed the part about your child. I apologize for that.
I just wanted to take a quick minute to post my thanks to everyone before I crash for the night and missed it.
I'm sure you've faced your share of challenges, as well, so I wish your family nothing but the best.
Take care,
Andy
Andy,
Short prayer lifted up for Kaden — and for you and Susie as you look for solutions.
And Woody, there's nothing to "believe" about mass prayer. It simply works. Thanks for using your position of influence to help this family.

Andy, Kaden is in my thoughts and I hope he continues to improve - do keep up updated!
Hi all,
Myself and others in my cell group have been reading Andy Womacks's book - A better way to Pray. Just as there are laws that govern things like Gravity - God operates with laws. In the book he talks about talking to the Mountain.
"And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen."
God knows about the problem before we mention it. He doesn't delay when we pray according to his will and healing is part of his will but it's a case of getting from the spiritual to the physical.
We don't talk to God and tell him about the mountain but talk to the mountain and tell him about God.
Chris is above every principality and power - this illness has power and it is seizures and I thank Jesus that he died on the Cross and that by his stripes we are healed. I command these Seizures to stop in the name of Jesus.
God Bless
